We agreed that a place such as Ashoka House should exist to promote the cause of peace either defined as inner peace of the individual or as a place to promote the casue of peace politically

To reconcile the two ideals is difficult as the former tends to deny an institutional framework while the other requires an institutional framework.

Fundamentally, the cause of peace can only be promoted by individuals who are at peace with themselves. We need to explore how to acheive this end in the cause of world peace.
